Latest Japanese Technologies to Solve Water and Energy Problems supplementary
Water and energy experts from the Japanese companies introduced latest technologies to Arab countries. They launched products related to renewable energy sectors at a meeting in the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Twelve companies and two public entities of Japan were present at the meeting and they were delineatedprogression in detoxification, water and wastewater treatment, water seepage solution, water-reuse, sponsoring for water and water projects, solar power project, supportable urban development and strategic plans on smart city projects. Basic purpose of the meeting was to enable Japanese companies and local partners to do combined efforts to subsidize water and energy substructure development in the kingdom.
President of JCCME TadatsunaKoda stated, “He noted that Saudi Arabia’s rapid population growth and dramatic economic progress are spurring extremely high demand for water and power.Of course, measures are being taken to meet the increasing demand for water, an indispensable resource in the region”. He referred to some necessary steps taken across the Middle East to meet water needs. He especially pointed to the brinepurification plants that are being constructed to magnify water supply capacities. Basic attention of these people is on establishment of watersupply management system to prevent leaking problems.
There is a delicateinterest in renewable energy plans such as solar power generation, nuclear energy and wind-power generation from the viewpoints of employing oil resources efficiently andstabilizing the environment in oil producing countries.During the meeting, the president explained that they want to promote economic cooperation between Japan and the Middle East through directive investment and technology transfer from Japan to these countries. Secretary of JCCI General Adnan Mansor remarks that he is looking forward to Japan for technology and expertise transfers with an aim to increase investment in different industrial sectors.
Japanese counsel has taken this decision after reviewing the strong bilateral economy of Saudi Arabia. Japanese and Saudi Arabians both hope that this collaboration will be beneficial for the both countries. During the meeting, the Japanese companies gave presentation of their specialized fields such as:
• Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on its SWRO desalination technology
• Swing Corporation on its role as a water business partner
• Hitachi on water environment solutions
• KOBELCO Eco-Solutions Co. on technicalities of combined desalination system
• Toray Industries on its water treatment business
• Japan Bank for International Cooperation on financing water business in the Middle East
This meeting brings very positive measures to satisfy increasing needs of water and energy in the different parts of both countries. Some professors of Japanese universities were also present in this meeting and we just hope that this collaboration will bring positive results for the energy and water solutions all over the world.
